This is a question that didn’t come naturally to me. Instead it has come with a lot of time, pain, lost money and headaches.
When someone says, we should build this piece of software, critical to the business… is it cheaper to buy it?
If there’s a want to grow, but you don’t have a good sales team… can you buy a competitor who has a great sales team?
I am aware that acquisitions don’t often live up to the hype and expectations, but that doesn’t mean expectations were correctly set, or that the deal was structured correctly. There are volumes written about that, and I don’t write long enough posts to cover even a fraction.
As the end of the year approaches, what are your plans for 2019?
Should you be approaching that competitor and trying to buy them… or be bought by them in 2019 instead?
